Casten Statement on Horrific Clarendon Hills Train Crash Killing One and Injuring Four

Washington, D.C. (May 11, 2022) – Today, Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) released the following statement after reports that a Metra BNSF passenger was killed and four others were injured after a BNSF train hit a box truck in Clarendon Hills on Wednesday morning.

Congressman Casten said, "My heart is broken to learn that, earlier today, a life was lost and four people were injured in a train crash in Clarendon Hills. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those impacted. We must take steps to ensure we protect our community from future tragedies.

"I am actively working with the National Transportation Safety Board to make certain action is taken to ensure safety for every passenger."
